Cleburne Lady Jackets soccer is running third in District 8-5A with a 12-2-2 overall record and 6-2-2 in district play as this week began. Last week, they fell 2-1 to Joshua but rebounded with a 5-3 win over rival Burleson. Cleburne could clinch a postseason berth Tuesday when it hosts Mansfield Timberview and then plays at Everman High School on Friday.
The boys sit at 6-10-4 overall and 5-5 in district play. They dropped a tight 1-0 decision to Burleson Friday but had beaten Joshua 3-2 on Tuesday. The boys remain very much in the playoff hunt as the season enters its final two weeks.
Lady Jackets softball opened District 8-5A play Tuesday at Joshua and hosts Burleson Friday. Cleburne was 7-12 through its first three nondistrict tournaments.
Jackets baseball is 7-2 through the first two weeks, with its final tournament scheduled for this weekend.
