The Cleburne High School Lady Jackets soccer team saw its season end Friday with a 2-0 loss to Paschal in the Class 5A Division I Region I opening-round playoff at Aledo High School. Despite a strong defensive effort, Cleburne was unable to generate enough offense, closing the season at 16-3-2.
Cleburne baseball is 13-5 overall and 1-3 in District 8-5A after splitting a competitive series last week against Johnson County rival Joshua, both games ending 3-2. The Jackets rebounded Friday with a 12-2 run-rule victory over Wichita Falls Memorial in a non-district contest. This week, Cleburne faces Burleson in a rivalry series, traveling Tuesday and returning home Friday.
The Lady Jackets softball team is 10-15 overall and 2-4 in District 8-5A, but has won its last two games to stay in playoff contention. Last week, Cleburne defeated Mansfield Summit 16-2 in its only district matchup. This week, the Lady Jackets host Arlington Seguin Tuesday and travel to Burleson Centennial Friday.
