The Lady Jackets soccer season came to a close Friday with a 2-0 loss to Paschal in the Class 5A Division I Region I opening round at Aledo High School. Despite strong defensive play, Cleburne could not generate offense, finishing the season at 16-3-2.
Jackets baseball remains in the thick of District 8-5A play at 13-5 overall and 1-3 in the league. Cleburne split a close series last week against Johnson County rival Joshua, both games ending 3-2. The team rebounded Friday with a 12-2 non-district win over Wichita Falls Memorial. This week features a key rivalry series with Burleson, Tuesday on the road and Friday at home.
Lady Jackets softball is working to climb back into the playoff race. The team is 10-15 overall and 2-4 in district play, winning its last two games, including a 16-2 district victory over Mansfield Summit. Cleburne was home Tuesday against Arlington Seguin and plays at Burleson Centennial Friday.
