CORSICANA, Texas — Corsicana will head to East Texas on Friday to face Hallsville in a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
The Tigers come in at 1-1 after a 36-20 win over Waco High in their home opener last week. Quarterback Kevin Pointer threw for more than 200 yards and three touchdowns, while the defense added 16 points with two fumble returns for scores by Allen Walker and a safety. Corsicana led by as many as three touchdowns in the victory.
Hallsville enters at 0-2 after losses to Lindale and Crandall. Fans can listen to the game on 106.9 FM, with pregame coverage starting at 6:30 p.m. Rusty Hitt will handle play-by-play, Ritchie Cutrair will provide analysis, and Chuck Williams will report from the sidelines.
In volleyball, the Lady Tigers improved to 8-5 after opening District 15-5A play with a win over Ennis on Tuesday. Corsicana will travel to Midlothian Heritage on Friday.
The Tigers’ cross country program will host its home meet Friday.
