Like many teams across North Texas, the Corsicana Tigers moved their game to Thursday night to avoid the heavy weather forecasted for Friday. The Tigers traveled to Kaufman for the District 6-5A matchup, which aired on 106.9 FM with Rusty Hitt, Ritchie Cutrair and Chuck Williams on the call.

Corsicana entered the game 4-3 overall and 2-2 in district play, seeking its third straight victory. Kaufman came in 2-5 and 0-4. It was a must-win for the Tigers, who are now firmly in the mix for a playoff spot as each remaining game carries major postseason implications.

Last week, Corsicana took care of business against Greenville, winning 38-14. Quarterback Kevin Pointer Jr. threw three touchdown passes covering 31, 52 and nine yards. The Tigers jumped out early, leading 22-7 after the first quarter and extending the advantage to 29-7 by halftime.

On the volleyball court, the Lady Tigers wrap up their season Friday on the road at Kaufman. While Corsicana will miss the postseason, the program showed strong improvement throughout the year.
