Corsicana Lady Tiger basketball may have opened the season slowly, but the group appears to be finding its footing heading into the Thanksgiving break. On Wednesday, the Lady Tigers earned an impressive 56-53 road victory over Class 6A Lewisville, improving their record to 2-5.

The win was a needed bounce-back performance after Monday’s 49-40 loss at Tyler John Tyler. Head coach Nicholas Claiborne, now back leading the program, is looking for his team to build on the momentum and take steady steps forward as the season progresses. The road stretch continues Tuesday when the Lady Tigers travel to West Mesquite.

The boys program endured a challenging week before the holiday. Corsicana dropped an 80-37 decision at Tyler Chapel Hill on Monday, then fell 56-44 at home Tuesday to Garland Naaman Forest. The Tigers enter the break at 1-4 and look to regroup with another home matchup on Tuesday against Dallas Gateway Charter Academy as they work to gain early-season traction.
