Corsicana boys and girls tennis teams are District 15-5A champions, claiming titles last week in the district tournament. The girls singles championship was won by Kate Higgs, while Madison and McKinley White captured the girls doubles title. Will and John Higgs took home the boys doubles championship. Both teams are advancing to the Region II tournament starting next Friday at Prosper Walnut Grove High School.
The District 15-5A track meet wrapped up Thursday at Midlothian Heritage. Corsicana will host the area meet qualifiers next Friday at Community National Bank & Trust Stadium.
Tiger baseball finishes its series with Midlothian Friday at James G. Price Field. Corsicana won the opener Monday, 5-1. The Tigers are 21-4-1 overall and 6-3 in District 15-5A, one game behind co-district leaders Ennis and Midlothian Heritage. Corsicana will meet Red Oak next week, with the Tigers and Hawks tied for third.
Lady Tiger softball is 12-15-1 overall and 4-7 in District 15-5A as it moves into the final stretch of the season.
