Corsicana baseball saw its season come to an end last week in the Class 5A Division II Region II semifinals.
Lucas Lovejoy swept the Tigers by scores of 7-1 and 13-7. The series was broadcast on 106.9 FM with Rusty Hitt on the call.
Despite the playoff exit, Corsicana completed another strong season under veteran coach Heath Autrey, who just finished his 22nd year leading the program. The Tigers opened the season with an impressive 18-1-1 start and eventually finished second in District 15-5A.
Corsicana will now look to replace a senior-heavy roster that included infielder Easton Autrey, the coach’s son. Easton Autrey has signed with the University of Texas and was one of five Tigers to sign to continue playing at the collegiate level.
The Tigers finish the 2026 season with a 29-7-1 record.
In other athletics news, Corsicana is also looking to fill head coaching vacancies this summer in girls basketball and girls soccer.
