As the 2025-26 athletics season comes to a close for Corsicana, there are a couple of football notes to highlight heading into the offseason.
Coach Eugene Rogers again chose not to conduct spring football workouts, similar to the approach he used in 2025. That strategy helped produce a team that remained in the district playoff race throughout the season.
Because the Tigers did not participate in spring football, they will receive an early start to fall camp. Workouts begin Aug. 3, with the first day of contact scheduled for Aug. 8. Corsicana will also benefit from having two scrimmages instead of one before the regular season begins.
One of the key decisions still facing Rogers is naming the team’s starting quarterback, a competition that remains ongoing.
Outside of football, Corsicana enjoyed several athletic highlights during the 2025-26 school year. The baseball team advanced to the regional semifinals, while the track and field program qualified multiple athletes for the state meet earlier in May.
Corsicana now turns its attention toward a new district alignment following February’s UIL realignment. The 2026-27 athletics season officially begins Aug. 1.
