Corsicana – The Corsicana Tigers finally ended their long district losing streak last Friday, snapping a 25-game skid that dated back to 2021. Corsicana defeated Mesquite Poteet 49-28 with a big second half.
The Tigers are 3-3 overall and 1-2 in District 6-5A, putting themselves back in postseason contention. Quarterback Kevin Pointer threw for 346 yards and four touchdowns, while the offense totaled nearly 550 yards, including 200 on the ground.
Corsicana faces Greenville on Friday at Community National Bank & Trust Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., with pregame coverage starting at 6 p.m. on 106.9 FM. Greenville is 0-6 and 0-3 in district play.
The Lady Tigers volleyball team, 12-12 overall and 3-7 in District 15-5A, hosts Red Oak on Friday with slim playoff hopes still alive.
