Winter weather prompted Decatur athletics to reschedule basketball contests originally set for Tuesday at Castleberry. Both boys and girls games were moved to Wednesday, conditions permitting, due to school closures.

No. 1 Lady Eagles basketball carried a 14-game winning streak into Wednesday’s game. Decatur is 26-4 overall and 9-0 in District 7-4A. The Lady Eagles face Krum on Friday. Last week, Decatur posted blowout wins over Lake Worth and Bridgeport.

Boys basketball has struggled this season. The Eagles are 8-15 overall and 2-5 in 7-4A. They share the same schedule with the girls between Castleberry and district leader Krum. Last week, they dropped games to Lake Worth and Bridgeport.

Decatur boys soccer is off to an undefeated start at 8-0-2 after victories over Lake Dallas and Wichita Falls Memorial last week. Girls soccer is 2-6, having beaten Azle but lost to Lake Dallas. As of Tuesday, decisions had not been made regarding their upcoming matches.

Fans are encouraged to check the school website and social media for updates on schedule changes.
