On Black Friday, the Eagles fell to No. 1 Celina, 33-7, in the Class 4A Division I Region II semifinals. Decatur finishes the season at 8-4. It was a tough climb for head coach Steve Huff’s team. The Eagles stayed close at halftime, trailing 20-7, with their only score coming on Jake Milligan’s 34-yard touchdown run. That would be as close as they would get.
Sophomore quarterback Rhys Ragan finished with 186 yards but was hampered by two interceptions. We’ll wrap up the 2025 season next week.
Lady Eagles basketball is off to a 10-3 start. Beginning Thursday, they compete in the She Got Game Classic in Lancaster, an event that draws teams from across the country. Decatur will face squads from Las Vegas and Phoenix.
The boys team hosts the Decatur Invitational Tournament Thursday through Saturday. The Eagles enter the tournament 0-3.
