Top-ranked Decatur is headed back to San Antonio with a chance to claim a second consecutive state championship. The Lady Eagles advanced to the Class 4A Division I final with a 78-59 victory over No. 14 Prosper Richland in Tuesday’s state semifinal at Denton High School. Decatur improved to 36-4 on the season.

The Lady Eagles reached the state semifinals after defeating No. 2 Canyon High School 62-43 in last Friday’s Region I championship game.

To secure back-to-back titles, Decatur must defeat No. 7 Waco La Vega in a rematch of last year’s championship. La Vega improved to 28-11 following a 42-20 semifinal victory over San Antonio Davenport on Tuesday. Decatur defeated La Vega 53-41 in last year’s final.
