DECATUR, Texas — The 2025 football season begins Friday for the Eagles, who are looking to build on last year’s playoff run.
Head coach Steve Huff’s program wrapped up fall camp last week with its second scrimmage, at Wichita Falls Memorial. Decatur finished 7-5 in 2024 and reached the area round of the Class 4A Division I playoffs.
The Eagles will open on the road at Brock with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. Brock, ranked No. 4 in the first Class 4A Division II poll, advanced to the state semifinals last fall. Junior Rhys Ragan will make his debut as Decatur’s starting quarterback.
In volleyball, the Lady Eagles entered the week 14-2 and ranked No. 4 in Class 4A. They faced Wichita Falls Memorial on Tuesday and will compete in tournament play Thursday through Saturday.
Decatur cross country is scheduled to run Saturday at the FM Marcus event.
