Weather is affecting Decatur’s playoff baseball schedule, though no changes have been announced for Lady Eagles softball.

Decatur’s softball team will open its Class 4A Division I Region I area series against Mineral Wells as scheduled. Game 1 is set for 6 p.m. Thursday, with Game 2 at 4 p.m. Friday. A third game, if necessary, will follow Game 2. All games will be played at Weatherford College. The Lady Eagles enter the series with a 12-9 record after a 15-0 win over Western Hills in last week’s bi-district round.

Meanwhile, Decatur baseball, co-champions of District 7-4A, began its playoff series against Southwest on Wednesday at Northwest High School. Game 2 is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, with a potential Game 3 set for 4 p.m. Friday at the same site. The Eagles, who are the top seed in Division I Region I, improved to 20-7-1 after defeating Springtown 1-0 in a seeding game Saturday. The teams split their final regular-season series to share the district title.

Fans are encouraged to check the school website and social media for any schedule updates.

The Class 4A Region I track and field meet is scheduled for Friday and Saturday in Lubbock. Decatur qualifiers include Jose Espinosa (1,600 meters), two boys relay teams, Ava Green (high jump) and Maddyx Coffman (1,600).
