With Brad Ingram now leading the highly successful Decatur girls basketball program, there is more to know about the veteran coach’s background.
Ingram most recently served as the lead assistant coach at Saginaw Boswell, helping guide the Lady Pioneers to the Class 6A Division II state championship during the 2024-25 season.
He brings extensive experience to Decatur, having spent 36 years in the coaching profession, including 18 years as a head coach. Prior to his time at Boswell, Ingram served as the head boys basketball coach at Austin High School, where he led the Maroons to multiple playoff appearances.
Ingram now inherits one of the premier girls basketball programs in Class 4A.
Under former coach Drew Coffman, the Lady Eagles reached the playoffs in each of his four seasons and captured back-to-back Class 4A Division I state championships in 2024-25 and 2025-26. Coffman departed in April to become the head coach at Midwestern State in Wichita Falls.
Ingram’s challenge will be maintaining the high standard established by the program as Decatur begins preparations for the 2026-27 season.
The new athletics calendar officially begins Aug. 1.
