Both the Decatur boys and girls soccer teams were in playoff action Tuesday night in the Class 4A Division I Region I area round. The Lady Eagles faced Wolfforth Frenship Memorial at Abilene Wylie, entering the match 10-7 after a 7-1 opening-round win over Canyon. Frenship Memorial came in at 13-6-4.
The Decatur boys Eagles took on San Angelo Lake View, 15-1-2, following a 7-2 win over Amarillo West Plains in the first playoff round. Lake View entered the match 20-2-1. Both Decatur squads aimed to advance to the regional semifinals later this week.
Baseball resumed District 7-4A action with a series against Castleberry. Tuesday’s opener was in Decatur, with Friday’s return game in River Oaks. The Eagles began the week 10-6 overall and 2-0 in district play after wins over Mineral Wells and Glen Rose last week.
The Lady Eagles softball team entered the week at 7-6 overall and 3-2 in District 7-4A action.
