Eagle Mountain – The Eagle Mountain Knights look to bounce back this week in District 3-4A action as they host Burkburnett. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Friday.
Eagle Mountain enters at 4-2 after a 41-13 loss to state-ranked Brock in its district opener. Despite the defeat, senior running back Terry Starks turned in another strong performance, rushing for 128 yards and a touchdown. He needs just 40 yards Friday to surpass 1,000 for the season.
Burkburnett comes in at 0-6 after a 37-14 loss to Graham last week.
In volleyball, the fifth-ranked Lady Knights are closing in on the District 7-4A championship. They swept Springtown last Friday to secure a playoff berth and played at Castleberry on Tuesday. They return home Friday to face Bridgeport.
The Eagle Mountain girls cross country team is advancing to the Region I meet after placing third at the District 7-4A meet last week in Decatur.
