They were dominant. They made history. And now, they are state champions. In only their second year of varsity competition, the Eagle Mountain Lady Knights claimed the Class 4A Division II state volleyball title, defeating defending champion Wimberley in four sets last Friday at the Culwell Center in Garland.
Under legendary head coach Catherine Foerster, Eagle Mountain delivered a poised and powerful performance, winning 25-15, 25-20, 22-25 and 25-18. Nebraska signee Keoni Williams led the attack with 15 kills, sophomore Madie Haney added 12 and Texas A&M signee Brooke Lacewell finished with 11.
The Lady Knights’ final record of 38-11 hardly tells the full story. They front-loaded their schedule with higher-classification opponents, then did not lose a single match after Aug. 29. Eagle Mountain closed the year on a 24-match winning streak and won an astonishing 72 of the 76 sets they played. A truly historic achievement.
On the football field, the Knights’ season came to a close in the Class 4A Division II Region I playoffs. Eagle Mountain fell to top-ranked Midland Greenwood, 58-13, to finish the year 8-4. A full wrap-up of the Knights’ 2025 football season is coming next week.
