Eagle Mountain girls basketball has caught fire. The Lady Knights flipped their early-season struggles into momentum after a 5-0 run at the Caddo Mills Tournament, turning a 1–4 start into a six-game winning streak. Now 7–4, Eagle Mountain is surging thanks to the return of players from the volleyball state championship run and strong play from senior guard Taniyah Reese, who is averaging 13 points and seven rebounds per game.

The Lady Knights hosted Iowa Park on Tuesday and now shift their focus to another test, the Mineral Wells Tournament, which runs Thursday through Saturday.

On the boys side, Eagle Mountain has battled a tough early schedule and some tight losses. The Knights sit at 3–5, with three defeats decided by a combined eight points. They went 2–2 at the Key City Classic in Abilene last week and have already faced powerhouse Aledo twice this season. After Tuesday’s game against Argyle, Eagle Mountain turns its attention to the Godley Tournament, which begins Thursday.

Both programs appear poised to gain ground as December competition ramps up.
