The postseason picture is coming into focus for both Eagle Mountain basketball teams, with the Knights already in and the Lady Knights needing help.

The Lady Knights closed their regular season Tuesday at home against Springtown. Eagle Mountain entered the finale at 16-17 overall and 6-7 in District 7-4A, trailing Krum by one game for the final playoff spot.

To force a playoff play-in game, the Lady Knights needed a win over the Lady Pines and a Krum loss at Bridgeport. A Krum victory would eliminate Eagle Mountain from postseason contention.

Eagle Mountain put itself in position with a dramatic 58-57 win at Krum last Friday.

The Knights, meanwhile, have secured their playoff berth. They entered Tuesday’s contest against Springtown at 17-13 overall and 8-3 in district play. Eagle Mountain travels to No. 8 Burkburnett on Friday to close out the regular season.

On the soccer field, the Lady Knights are 5-6 overall and 1-1 in District 8-4A. Their lone match this week was Tuesday at home against state power Lake Dallas.

The Knights soccer team is 6-1-2 overall and 2-0 in district action and followed the same schedule, hosting Lake Dallas on Tuesday.
