The Eagle Mountain Knights boys basketball team secured a spot in the Class 4A Division I Region I playoffs next week. The Knights finished as the second seed in District 7-4A, entering Tuesday’s regular-season finale at 18-14 overall and 9-4 in district play.
Eagle Mountain hosted Lake Worth in the finale. While the game had no impact on the Knights’ playoff standing, it was crucial for Lake Worth, which was battling Bridgeport for the district’s final postseason spot. Details on Eagle Mountain’s playoff matchup were expected to be announced later this week via the school’s website and social media accounts.
The Lady Knights narrowly missed the postseason after finishing the season with a 43-30 victory over Springtown. They ended the year 17-17 overall and 7-7 in district play. Krum secured the final playoff berth with a win in its finale, eliminating the Lady Knights from contention.
In soccer, the Knights boys opened the week 7-1-2 overall and 3-0 in District 8-4A, hosting Lake Worth Tuesday and Castleberry Friday. The girls soccer team entered the week 5-7 overall and 1-2 in district competition.
