Eagle Mountain Knights soccer season concluded last Tuesday in the Class 4A Division I Region I area playoffs with a heartbreaking loss on penalty kicks to Ferris. After a 2-2 tie through regulation and two overtime periods, the all-or-nothing shootout ended the Knights’ season at 11-6-2.
Knights baseball enters a pivotal week in District 7-4A with a home-and-home series against league leader Springtown. The Knights came into the matchups at 10-8 overall and 3-1 in district play. Last week, Eagle Mountain split a pair of non-district games, defeating W.T. White of Dallas 1-0 on March 24 before falling to Glen Rose 3-2 on Saturday. Tuesday’s game was at home, with Thursday’s matchup at Springtown.
Lady Knights softball also faces two critical district games this week. Tuesday was at home against Lake Worth, and Thursday was on the road at Bridgeport. Eagle Mountain started the week at 15-10-1 overall and 4-3 in 7-4A, tied for third with Decatur. Last week, the Lady Knights fell to Springtown 2-1 and to district leader Burleson Centennial 5-1.
