Eagle Mountain football wrapped up its offseason workouts last week as the Knights prepare for their move to Class 5A Division II beginning in August.

As an incoming Class 5A program, Eagle Mountain had the option to conduct a formal spring football season. However, head coach Jeremy Mullins chose to keep the offseason schedule consistent with previous years instead of adding spring practices.

The Knights will begin fall workouts Aug. 3, with contact practices starting Aug. 8. An added benefit of the schedule format is that Eagle Mountain will be allowed to participate in two scrimmages instead of one before the regular season.

Eagle Mountain also has a new defensive coordinator. Quincy Jones joins the program from Crowley and previously coached at Midlothian. The transition is expected to be smooth for the Knights, who operate out of a four-man defensive front.
