As Eagle Mountain wraps up the 2025-26 athletics season, the biggest storyline is the Knights moving up in classification.

Following February’s UIL realignment, Eagle Mountain will compete in Class 5A Division II beginning this fall. The Knights will join a seven-team district that includes Argyle, Colleyville Heritage, Grapevine, The Colony, Lucas Lovejoy and Nevada Community.

The signature moment of the athletic year came last November when Catherine Foerster guided the volleyball program to the Class 4A Division II state championship.

However, Eagle Mountain will now be searching for a new volleyball coach. Last week, Foerster resigned after two seasons to accept the head coaching position at La Vernia, a Class 4A powerhouse east of San Antonio.

The departure creates a busy summer for Eagle Mountain ISD as administrators work to find a replacement capable of sustaining the program’s momentum following a championship season.

Volleyball season begins Aug. 1.
