Eagle Mountain athletics will move up to Class 5A Division II for the next two years, the University Interscholastic League announced Monday in its biannual realignment. Football and other sports will compete in separate districts.
For football, the Knights join a seven-team District 3-5A in Region I, which includes Argyle, Grapevine, Colleyville Heritage, The Colony, Lucas Lovejoy and Nevada Community. Head coach Jeremy Mullins’ program will play a four-game non-district schedule, with the full district schedule to be released after meetings between coaches and administrators.
In all other sports, Eagle Mountain is placed in a seven-team District 5-4A. The Knights and Lady Knights will compete against Argyle, Azle, Saginaw Chisholm Trail, Saginaw, Keller Fossil Ridge and Brewer of White Settlement.
The new districts take effect this August with the start of volleyball. Updates on basketball and soccer schedules will be provided next week.
