GLEN ROSE, Texas — Glen Rose will look for its first win of the season Friday when the Tigers host Brownwood at Tiger Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
The Tigers fell to 0-2 after a 30-7 loss to Gatesville last week. Sophomore quarterback Luke Males continued to show progress, throwing for 100 yards and a touchdown while adding 80 rushing yards. Head coach Cliff Watkins noted the growth despite the offense struggling to find rhythm.
Brownwood is also 0-2 after losses to Wall and Abilene Wylie. The Lions’ offense has managed just 10 points through two games.
In volleyball, the Lady Tigers have won five straight, including a road victory Tuesday at Troy. Glen Rose, ranked No. 20 in the Class 4A state poll, enters at 18-11. They will next play Tuesday at home against Crawford.
The Tigers’ cross country program hosted its home meet Wednesday.
