In what was expected to be a rebuilding year, the Glen Rose Tigers still managed to secure another district championship and reach the postseason. Their run came to an end last week, however, with a 39-27 loss to Seminole in the Class 4A Division II Region I semifinals in Sweetwater. Glen Rose closes the 2025 campaign at 6-6.

The semifinal matchup was competitive throughout. Glen Rose carried a 21-20 lead into halftime, but Seminole seized control with a 12-point third quarter. Despite the loss, sophomore quarterback Judd Connally delivered a standout performance, throwing for 189 yards and three touchdowns while adding 84 rushing yards. The Tigers, however, struggled defensively against a potent Seminole attack that totaled 481 yards.

Even so, Glen Rose enters 2026 with plenty of optimism. Key young talent returns, and this year’s late-season surge provides a strong foundation moving forward. A full season wrap-up is scheduled for next week.

On the hardwood, Lady Tiger basketball hit the Thanksgiving break at 5-5 following a split of recent games against Granbury and Strawn. The boys program is off to a 3-1 start after defeating Grandview and falling to Paradise earlier in the week.
