Glen Rose boys basketball entered its midweek tournament on a surge, carrying an 8-2 record and a four-game winning streak into the three-day event that began Thursday and runs through Saturday.

The Tigers continued their strong start with a 74-55 win over Peaster on Tuesday, fueled by an 11-0 opening run that set the tone for a dominant first quarter. Glen Rose led 38-29 at halftime and pulled away with another decisive run in the third quarter. After the tournament wraps up, the Tigers will travel to Gatesville on Tuesday.

The Lady Tigers are also navigating a stretch of road games, visiting Clyde on Friday for a 6:15 p.m. tipoff. Glen Rose is looking to stop a three-game skid after falling 54-21 at Cleburne on Tuesday. Their road swing continues next Tuesday at Godley.

In football news, quarterback Judd Connally has been named the District 4-4A Most Valuable Player.
