Glen Rose basketball is heading into the holiday break with both programs wrapping up non-district action before tournament play begins Dec. 29.
The boys team, 11-5 on the season, travels to McGregor Friday for a 3:30 p.m. tipoff before pausing for the break. The Tigers struggled in a Tuesday loss at Gatesville, 81-56, but rebounded over the weekend in their own tournament with victories over Springtown, Wall and Georgetown, finishing 3-2.
The Lady Tigers continue through a transition season, entering Friday’s home matchup against Fort Worth Country Day at 5 p.m. with a 9-10 record. Glen Rose dropped a 47-29 decision at Godley Tuesday but won convincingly at Clyde, 52-26, the previous week. Holiday tournament play begins for the Lady Tigers on Dec. 29.
In football news, Glen Rose running back Tyler Sullivan was named District 4-4A Co-Offensive MVP.
