The Glen Rose Tigers basketball season came to an end Monday night in the Class 4A Division II Region I opening round.

Glen Rose fell to ninth-ranked Lubbock Liberty, 67-42. It was a difficult matchup from the outset, but the loss does not diminish another strong season for the Tigers.

Glen Rose finished 24-11 overall and 8-2 in District 6-4A, securing sole possession of second place in the district standings. All four District 6-4A teams that qualified for the postseason: Glen Rose, Graham, Brock and Stephenville advanced out of the opening round.

On the diamond, Lady Tigers softball is into the third week of the season and competing in its third tournament of the year, which runs through Saturday. Glen Rose opened the campaign at 3-3-1.

Baseball season is also getting under way as several basketball players transition back to the sport. Glen Rose is hosting the Harley Hogg event through Saturday. Under head coach Heath Herron, the Tigers are aiming for another postseason run this spring.
