Boys and girls golf are sending three teams to the Class 4A Region I tournament this week in Lubbock. At last week’s District 6-4A tournament in Abilene, Glen Rose’s two girls teams claimed the top two spots, with Alyssa Lester winning the individual championship. Meanwhile, the boys finished second. The boys will play Monday and Tuesday, and the girls will play Wednesday and Thursday. All rounds are at Shadow Hills Golf Course on the South Plains.
The District 6-4A track meet finished Thursday in Graham. Last week at the Texas Relays in Austin, Glen Rose senior Tyler Sullivan placed third in the 110-meter hurdles.
Tiger baseball finishes its series with Stephenville in Erath County tonight, looking for a sweep. Glen Rose won the first game Tuesday, 6-2. The Tigers are 12-12 overall and 2-3 in District 6-4A.
Lady Tiger softball has clinched a playoff spot. Glen Rose is 18-10-1 overall and 5-2 in District 6-4A. The Lady Tigers beat Graham at home Tuesday, 5-1, and host Mineral Wells this afternoon.
