Lady Tiger softball opened the Class 4A playoffs Thursday.
They began the Division II Region I best-of-three series against Snyder, with all games being played in Eula. Game 2 is scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m., with a possible deciding third game to follow.
Glen Rose enters the series at 18-13-1 overall after finishing 5-5 in District 6-4A. Last week, the Lady Tigers lost to Stephenville in the regular-season finale, 14-4.
Tiger baseball has clinched a Division II playoff spot. The team is 15-14 overall and 5-4 in District 6-4A entering Friday’s regular-season finale at home against Graham. They also play a warmup game against Peaster at home Saturday.
Glen Rose will face Lubbock Liberty in the opening playoff round next week. Details are pending.
The Glen Rose girls golf team is the Region I champion, and Alyssa Lester earned individual medalist honors. The titles were claimed last week in Lubbock.
The Class 4A state golf tournament is scheduled for May 4-5 in Austin.
Glen Rose boys and girls track programs are sending several athletes to the Class 4A Region I meet next week in Lubbock.
The group includes area champion Tyson Sullivan in the 300-meter hurdles and Olivia Evertson in the 1,600 meters.
