Tiger baseball opened the District 6-4A season with a strong 8-5 victory over Mineral Wells Tuesday in Palo Pinto County. The win snapped a two-game skid for Glen Rose, bringing their overall record to 10-9. The district series continues Friday with the return game in Glen Rose. Mineral Wells lost non-district games last week to Decatur and Granbury, 3-2 and 6-4, respectively.
Lady Tigers softball heads into a key matchup Friday at district leader Brock. Glen Rose defeated Mineral Wells 8-5 Tuesday, following a 2-0 loss to Graham last Friday. The Lady Tigers are 15-9-1 overall and 2-1 in District 6-4A, just one game behind Brock.
Glen Rose boys and girls track resumed their season Thursday in Stephenville for the final regular-season meet before the District 6-4A meet in two weeks. Teams were off last week for Spring Break, and next week’s schedule is limited to athletes competing in the Texas Relays.
