Glen Rose — The Glen Rose Tigers gave state-ranked Alvarado all it could handle last Friday night in southern Tarrant County, but the Indians escaped with a 55-50 win. The loss dropped Glen Rose to 0-5 overall, though three of those defeats have come by six points or fewer.
Sophomore quarterback Judd Connally had another standout performance, throwing for 222 yards and two touchdowns while adding 166 rushing yards and three scores. Tyson Sullivan rushed for 268 yards and three touchdowns.
The Tigers have a bye this week, providing time to rest and prepare for the start of District 4-4A play next week.
In volleyball, the Lady Tigers are off to a 3-0 start in District 6-4A play. Glen Rose swept Brownwood on Tuesday and will host Stephenville on Friday. The Lady Tigers are 23-12 overall this season.
