Graham High School basketball is winding down its non-district schedule as both the Steers and Lady Blues prepare for the start of league competition.
The Steers began the week at 12-9 overall, playing at Childress Tuesday and then traveling to Clifton Saturday. Last week, Graham went 2-2 at the Buda Hayes Tournament, earning wins over Burnet and Yorktown. They also picked up a victory against Abilene Christian on Friday.
Lady Blues basketball opens the District 6-4A season Friday at home against Glen Rose. The team wrapped up its non-district schedule Tuesday with a matchup against No. 1 Class 1A Eula, which entered the contest undefeated. The Lady Blues stand 8-12 overall after participating in the Aggieland Tournament in College Station last week.
Soccer also kicks into gear for the Steers, with boys competing in the Celina Tournament beginning Thursday, currently 1-3 through the first week. Lady Blues soccer is off to a 2-0-1 start, playing Diamond Hill-Jarvis Tuesday before heading to the Wichita Falls Tournament starting Thursday.
