The Graham Steers are marching toward a potential showdown with Brock for the District 3-4A championship. But first, they’ll face an important test Friday night at Mineral Wells. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

The Steers enter the matchup 5-2 overall and 2-0 in district play, while the Rams sit at 3-4 and 1-1.

Graham handled business last Friday with a dominant 56-0 win over Bridgeport. Senior quarterback Jace Gill led the way with nearly 350 yards of total offense, throwing for 266 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 75 yards and two more scores.

The Steers’ defense was equally impressive, recording 11 tackles for loss, including three sacks.

Mineral Wells, meanwhile, is coming off a 55-7 loss to state powerhouse Brock and has been dealing with injuries at quarterback.

On the volleyball court, the Lady Blues remain in the playoff race at 27-11 overall and 3-5 in District 6-4A. Graham visited district leader Brock on Tuesday and will close the regular season Friday at home against Mineral Wells. The Lady Blues dropped matches to Glen Rose and Stephenville last week but still control their postseason hopes.
