Before closing the book on the 2025-26 athletics season for Graham, there is one final football note.
The Steers qualified for the Texas State 7-on-7 Tournament after a strong showing Friday at the state qualifying event in Mineral Wells. Graham went 3-0 in pool play before edging Stephenville 35-34 in the qualifying game.
The berth marks the 20th time in the past 21 years that Graham has advanced to the state tournament. The event is scheduled for June 25-27 at Veterans Park in College Station.
Overall, it was another successful year for Graham athletics. Coach Clay McChristian’s football team finished 9-4 and advanced to the Class 4A Division II regional semifinals.
The Lady Blues volleyball team also reached the playoffs, while girls soccer made a run to the regional semifinals during the winter season.
Boys basketball added another highlight by winning 20 games and earning a playoff victory.
Graham now turns its attention toward a new district alignment that begins Aug. 1 following the UIL realignment announced in February.
