The Steers head into their bye this week with a really solid foundation. They are 5-0 following their 49-21 victory over Peaster this past Friday. They also remained ranked No. 10 in the state Class 4A Division II poll.

Another dominant performance by senior quarterback Cooper Corley. He threw for 278 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for another 132 yards and four scores. Meanwhile, Dylan Cox added 120 rushing yards.

Graham’s offense finished with 580 yards. Not to be outdone, the defense forced three turnovers.

Now, it’s a chance for head coach Clay McChristian and his staff to go into the bye and evaluate strengths and weaknesses. It’s also time for some minor injuries to heal.

The District 6-4A season opens Oct. 9. The Steers will travel to Bridgeport.

Lady Blues volleyball split last week with Brock and Brownwood. They began the week 19-14 overall and 1-1 in District 6-4A.

Graham has home matches against Mineral Wells on Tuesday and Stephenville on Friday.
