The Graham High School Lady Blues soccer team battled through a tense playoff opener last Thursday, defeating Canyon Randall in a penalty shootout in the Class 4A Division II Region I bracket in Burkburnett.
After a scoreless draw through regulation and overtime, Graham secured a decisive 3-0 victory in penalty kicks to advance. The Lady Blues improved to 14-3-4 and moved on to the area round Tuesday against Lubbock Liberty at Abilene Wylie. Liberty entered the match 19-3-1 after a dominant 6-0 win over El Paso Bowie in its playoff opener.
The Graham Steers boys soccer team saw its season end with a 3-0 loss to Pampa in the opening round Friday in Canyon. The Steers finished the season 3-14-1.
Graham baseball opened District 6-4A play this week with a series against Brock. The Steers hosted Tuesday and travel Friday for the return game, entering the week 6-8-1 overall.
The Lady Blues softball team began the week 8-10 overall and 1-1 in District 6-4A play.
