Granbury – Granbury continues its difficult stretch in District 3-5A competition. After facing No. 5 Denton Ryan two weeks ago and top-ranked Aledo last Friday, the Pirates fell 61-0 to the Bearcats in Aledo.
The Pirates are 2-4 overall and 1-3 in district play. Junior running back Spencer Taylor provided the team’s highlight with a 66-yard run late in the first quarter. Granbury looks to rebound this Friday at home against Richland. The Royals are 5-2 overall and 4-1 in district play after a 30-21 loss to Ryan. KHITS 95.5 will broadcast the game from Johnny Perkins Field, with pregame coverage at 6:30 p.m. and kickoff at 7.
In volleyball, the Lady Pirates are 19-21 overall and 5-4 in District 5-5A, holding fourth place. They host third-place Keller Fossil Ridge on Tuesday before traveling to Brewer on Friday.
