Granbury held on for a 27-14 win at Keller Fossil Ridge last Thursday. The Pirates were tied 14-14 late before the defense produced a red-zone interception. The offense drove down and scored, then the defense added a late pick-six to seal the win. Granbury is 2-2 and 1-1 in District 3-5A. Quarterback Austin Reeves threw for 147 yards and two touchdowns.
The Pirates return home Friday to face state-ranked Denton Ryan. Kickoff is 7 p.m. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30 on KHITS with Clayton Neville and John Hampton.
Lady Pirate volleyball looks to bounce back Tuesday at Brewer. They have a district bye Friday. Granbury is 16-19 overall and 2-2 in District 5-5A.
Boys and girls cross country teams host a meet Saturday.
