Well, here we go for the District 5-5A baseball championship for the second straight year between Granbury and Aledo.
This is a repeat of what it looked like last year when these two prepared for this series.
The teams are tied for the District 5-5A lead at 8-0. Granbury is 16-7-2 overall, while Aledo is 24-2. Both have already clinched playoff spots.
Tuesday’s series opener is in Aledo, with Friday’s game in Granbury. The Pirates swept Brewer last week, 9-5 and 8-7.
Granbury softball is wrapping up its season this week. The Lady Pirates are 9-21 overall and 1-9 in District 5-5A.
The District 5-5A champion boys golf team is currently competing in the Region I tournament in Lubbock. The event started Monday at Shadow Hills Golf Course.
At the District 5-5A track meet last week at Aledo, Miller Schenewark won the district title for the fourth straight year in the high jump. Chase Cantrell won the discus. Both set personal records. They and others will compete in the area meet Thursday at Saginaw.
