Granbury High School’s Lady Pirates soccer team is gearing up for the Class 5A Division I Region I playoffs, having already clinched a postseason berth. Currently holding the No. 2 seed from District 5-5A, the Lady Pirates are 14-6-1 overall and 7-2-1 in district play. A home matchup against district leader Aledo High School Tuesday could shake up the district standings. Granbury would not only improve its district title chances with a win but also strengthen its bid for the No. 1 seed—though they may need some help from Aledo down the stretch. The Lady Pirates finish the regular season Friday at Saginaw Chisholm Trail High School. State playoffs are set to begin March 19.

On the boys’ side, Granbury’s soccer team has two remaining matches, Tuesday at Aledo and Friday at Chisholm Trail, but is not in playoff contention.

Granbury baseball stands at 6-6-2 through the first three weeks of the season and begins District 5-5A play with a home-and-home series against Keller Fossil Ridge High School this week.

Lady Pirates softball is 8-13 overall and 0-2 in district play, continuing their 5-5A schedule this week.
