The Granbury High School Lady Pirates soccer team will open the Class 5A Division II Region I playoffs Thursday against Grapevine. Fans can check school social media and the website for game details.
Granbury finished the regular season with a 1-0 victory at Saginaw Chisholm Trail Friday, closing at 15-7-1 overall and 8-3-1 in District 5-5A, good for third place. Grapevine enters the matchup at 13-5-6.
The Granbury baseball team has won four straight games and enters the week 9-6-2 overall and 2-0 in district play. Last week, the Pirates swept Keller Fossil Ridge in the opening District 5-5A series with shutouts of 10-0 and 4-0. Granbury also defeated Everman 6-0 in a Saturday non-district game. This week, the Pirates play a home-and-home series with Saginaw, hosting Tuesday and traveling Friday.
Granbury softball continues to work through a rebuilding season, holding an 8-15 overall record and 0-3 in District 5-5A.
