Kerens Bobcats Sports Update – 10/08/25

KERENS — The Bobcats begin District 8-2A competition Friday following their bye week. Kerens ended non district play 4-1 after defeating Scurry-Rosser 33-14 on Sept. 26.

Senior linebacker Jachi Rooks has led the defense with four interceptions, including one for a touchdown. Defensive lineman Julius Brown has seven tackles for loss, two sacks, and eight quarterback pressures. The Bobcat rushing offense averages more than seven yards per carry with four touchdown runs of at least 66 yards, including an 85-yarder.

Kerens opens district play at Cross Roads. Kickoff is 7 p.m. The Cross Roads Bobcats are 3-2.

In volleyball, Kerens wrapped up the first half of the District 21-2A schedule Tuesday. The Lady Bobcats are 14-17 and 1-2 in league play after a five-set win over Cross Roads last Friday. They travel to Cayuga on Friday.

The District 21-2A cross country meet is Wednesday in Hubbard.
