KERENS, Texas — Cliff Watkins and the Bobcats are set for Game 3 of the 2025 season Friday on the road at Elkhart. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Kerens enters 1-1 after a 20-14 come-from-behind win over Axtell last Thursday. Malaki Williams provided the game-winner on a 72-yard reverse inside the final two minutes. The Bobcats trailed 14-6 late in the third quarter before rallying.
Defensively, Jadarious Peters and D’Majaion Allen combined for 14 tackles and forced two fumbles.
Elkhart, also 1-1, is coming off a 16-14 victory at Warren.
In cross country, the Kerens boys dominated at the Leon meet Saturday, placing their top six runners in the top six spots to win the team title. Diego Torres claimed the individual championship. On the girls’ side, Kerens had two runners finish in the top eight. The program’s next meet is Sept. 17 in Axtell.
In volleyball, the Lady Bobcats opened a two-match homestand Tuesday against Covington and will host Dawson on Friday. Kerens enters the week 9-12.
