KRUM, Texas — The wait is over. The 2025 high school football season begins Friday with the debut of Krum head coach Chris Taber.
Taber takes over the program after serving the past three years as offensive coordinator under Chuck Caniford. The Bobcats went 9-3 in 2024 and wrapped up fall camp last Thursday with their second scrimmage against Bowie. Krum will also debut a new starting quarterback after a camp battle between juniors Elijah Guerrero and Casen Payne.
The opener sends the Bobcats to East Texas to face Wills Point, located off Highway 80. The Tigers finished 5-5 in 2024 and missed the postseason. Krum won last year’s meeting at home 35-7.
In volleyball, the Lady Bobcats competed over the weekend in the Farmerville tournament, which concluded Saturday. They hosted Holiday on Tuesday and will begin play Thursday in the Callisburg tournament.
