Eighth-ranked Krum opened District 7-4A play Saturday with a marquee Top 10 matchup and delivered a clutch performance. The Bobcats edged No. 10 Burkburnett, 60-58, in a tightly contested game that was decided in the closing moments.
The victory pushed Krum to 15-5 overall and extended its strong recent run. The Bobcats have now won nine of their last 10 games, including a 98-36 blowout of Scurry-Rosser in their final non-district contest last Tuesday. District play continues Tuesday at Decatur, followed by a home game Friday against Lake Worth.
The Lady Bobcats were also victorious Saturday, defeating Burkburnett, 43-35, to continue their strong start to district action. Krum finished tournament play at the Weatherford Tournament prior to the New Year’s holiday and now sits at 14-11 overall and 3-0 in District 7-4A play.
Like the boys, the Lady Bobcats face a challenging week ahead with a road game Tuesday at No. 3 Decatur before returning home Friday to take on Lake Worth.
