The Krum Bobcats are on the verge of securing the District 5-4A championship as they travel to Farmersville this week. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Friday.

Krum put itself in position for the title with a dominant 54-20 win over Gainesville last Thursday. The Bobcats improved to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in district play behind a balanced and explosive offensive performance that produced 570 total yards.

Running back Will Holland rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns, pushing his season total past 1,100 yards. Quarterback Elijah Guerrero threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns, both caught by receiver Lane Larson.

Farmersville enters the matchup 5-2 overall and 2-2 in district competition, fighting to lock up a playoff berth. A Krum victory would guarantee at least a share of the district championship and the top playoff seed.

In volleyball, the Lady Bobcats are safely in the postseason as the No. 4 seed from District 7-4A. Krum closed the regular season Friday with a win over Burkburnett and enters the playoffs at 22-16 overall and 8-6 in district play.

At the Class 4A Region I cross country meet last week at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock, Luis Zepeda and Kassidy Forsyth represented Krum, wrapping up their seasons with strong performances.
